My very first Author Spotlight is with Jude Ouvrard! I chose to interview Jude first because she is not only an amazing person and talented writer but she has done so much for me. I wanted to know more about this fascinating woman and I want you all to meet her too! So please… Read on and check out even more about the incredible Jude Ouvrard!
Megan Noelle: Thank you so much for doing this for me! So let’s start being telling me a little more about yourself!
Jude Ouvrard- I’m a 30 year old proud mom who is trying her hardest to succeed as an author. I recently lost my job and I realized that I would love to write full time. I am not there yet but its my goal. I also love shopping and listening to music. Music plays a big part in my life. It also helps me when Im writing.
Megan Noelle: I completely agree with music… Nothing really helps more than when you get in the moment to write and blast that perfect song. How long have you been writing?
Jude Ouvrard- I started writing when I was a kid. I would write every night. I constantly had stories going on in my head. Toward my teenage years, I stopped writing for a little while and started again when I moved out of my parents house. It became more serious a few years ago when my ultimate goal was to publish a book.
Megan Noelle: That’s so awesome! I’ve been writing for forever a well…I think it’s just in your soul!
Jude Ouvrard: I used to write in French though, I switched to English 2-3 years ago.
Megan Noelle: Was that a difficult transition?
Jude Ouvrard- At first yes, I had a lot to learn and I’m still learning every day. I had a hard time writing down my ideas but I never gave up.
Megan Noelle: That is really amazing and seriously, nothing beats a good support system! Was “Under the Sun” the first book you ever wrote? Or did you have other pieces before it?
Jude Ouvrard- It was my first novella. I was used to writing longer stories. I had a hard time adjusting. I wrote a couple of other novels before that but none of them are published. I might try to work on one of them and publish it eventually.
Megan Noelle- Absolutely! Never trash the old! Someday they might “speak” to you again! Where do you get inspirations for your stories?
Jude Ouvrard– Sometimes it is a dream, sometimes its a few ideas that I mix together to build a storyline. I get ideas when I’m listening to music. I have scenarios rolling in my head. Well my brain never stops working…
Megan Noelle- That’s so cool! Seriously my brain works in a lot of the same ways… When you *feel* it, you know it is meant to be! Do you have any new books in the works?
Jude Ouvrard– I have two. Body, Ink, and Soul and Lost Dreams. BIAS is the story of Phoenix Silverstone. After living under the strict rules and protection of her Mother all her life, she finally decides to move out with friend in a small apartment in Seattle. For the first time, she is able to take decisions for herself and enjoy life. She starts dating her long time crush and she believes he is everything she needs. Until she meets bad boy Levi who’s covered in tattoos. He is everything her mother despise but sometimes love is stronger than anything. Lost dreams is the story of 3 US army soldiers. In the blink of an eye, Carter’s end is met. Leaving his best friend and new wife suffering his loss. When Remy returns home Avery is all he has but their friendship starts to become something they never expected. Can Avery move on after losing the love of her life? When Remy starts to see Avery in a new life, can they fill their new found void? Or will it cost them all they have left?
Megan Noelle- They both sound so great! Reading the description of BIAS is making me realize how much I miss Levi! Because, yes people, I have the wonderful privilege of beta reading Jude’s work and trust me- you’ll want to watch for this! Are they both expected to have a 2014 release?
Jude Ouvrard- Yes. I’m aiming for the beginning of 2014 for both of them. Levi is my kind of guy!
Megan Noelle- The “bad boy” with the good heart and lots of tattoos?? It’s hard not to love them!
Jude Ourvard- Oh yesss! Love tattoos and love bad boys. Levi is a smart and good man too. I love him.
Megan Noelle- Oh yes… It’s hard for them not to have a place in our hearts.
Jude Ouvrard- Very hard!
Megan Noelle- Yes… reading him, I love that he isn’t just the bad boy, man whore. He is genuine and kind. It’s refreshing! Do you have any personal inspirations that motivate you to keep striving for more?
Jude Ouvrard- I picked Levi as a name because the letters of his name could also be Evil, which is totally bad boy material! Lol!
Megan Noelle- Omg! That’s clever! I didn’t even think of that! Do you have a “must read” author?
Jude Ouvrard- I have my favorites… Jamie McGuire, Colleen Hoover, S.C. Stephans and Megan Noelle!
Megan Noelle- Awe! I ❤ you! What is it you look for in a novel that makes something your favorite?
Jude Ouvrard- There has to be a love story. Passion, chemistry, and a strong connection.
Megan Noelle- Oh yes! I agree. I’m all about the passion. You almost have to forget you’re reading anything… You know?
Jude Ouvrard- Yeah exactly and then I can’t stop reading. It obsesses me.
Megan Noelle- I absolutely agree! So incredible! Which brings me to… What are your Top 3 favorite books?
Jude Ourvard- A top 3? That is bookworm cruelty!
Megan Noelle- Muahaha! I like applying a bit of torture!
Jude Ouvrard- Ok let me think. I read Beautiful Disaster a couple of times, Thoughtless too… And Argggh! This is hard… I love Hopeless by Colleen Hoover but I love Corey more, So Fool For You is in my Top 3! You have to know I’m not saying this because it’s your blog. No no no!! I truly love Corey and Dani, they share something special!

Jude Ouvrard- Well. If you are an aspiring author, there are two things I would like to say. Work hard and believe in what you do. You have the will to do something, do the best you could do!
